The seven year war( in other words the French and Indian War)
This war was a very important event in the colonies because it would later influence certain events that would affect the colonies. It started in the year 1756 and ended in 1763. The conflict was the last war of four that happende in the colonies and included tha Native-American tribes. Although this last war was the only one of the four that started in America and later expanded to Europe where it continue between the countries of France and Great Britain. Let`s talk about the war: it was actually for territorial power. Want to hear a strange fact? George Washington, later the first President of the United States, fought on the British side! Interesting right? Well George Washington was an important figure of this war because it was the confrontation in 1754 between his troops and the French at Fort Duquense(Pitsburgh) caused a big reaction due that in that little battle a French officer with name of Joseph Coulom de Jumonville was killed. This would angry the French that sent more troops, this caused George Washington to retreat several miles away. In 1755 another battle took place, this time in Fort Duquesne.Edward Braddock and George Washington were the commanders of the colonial troops. This time success didn`t awaited the British, but the French and their allies(the Indians) because of the usage of certain war strategies. Braddock was shot dead, yet Washington left unharmed the battlefield. Year 1756: (key for the British later success) the leadership that brought William Pitt to the colonies moved the war to Britain`s side. In the next years France lost territory and in the year 1760 the King`s Governor of New France surrendered with British General Amherst. The British won the territory east of the Mississippi River and the war ended when both parts signed the Treaty of Paris on February 10,1763.
