The Sons of Liberty

The Sons of Liberty… What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you think about these words? Certainly it is something about a bunch of men that fight together for a common cause. Well, if this was close to your thinking then you are in the correct path. The Sons of Liberty were a group of colonists that organize themselves to fight against the Stamp Act. The colonies where this organization had a major influence were New York and Massachusetts. This people were lead by Samuel Adams. Angry crowds attacked the colonists that supported the Parliament. Yet, Boston was the place were most violent reactions occurred against the tax collectors. The Sons of Liberty dissolved the year later, after the Stamp Act was repealed in 1766. A method of torturing that was famous during the time was the tarring and feathering.
